Starting in the 1920s, ballrooms across the U.S. sponsored dance contests, where dancers invented and competed with new moves. Professionals began to hone their skills in tap and other dances of the era throughout the Vaudeville circuit across the United States. Electric lighting made evening social entertainment more comfortable, giving rise to an era of dance halls and live music. The most popular dances were the Foxtrot, waltz and tango, the Charleston, and Lindy Hop.
Sit back and enjoy the show as local celebrities compete in our own Roaring '20s version of Dancing with the Stars!

Melissa Schroeder started working as a multi-media journalist at KRIS in July of 2009. She wanted to be a reporter since elementary school and now she's living her dream here in South Texas.
Melissa brings ten years experience to KRIS both in front of and behind the camera. She's worked at stations in Dayton and Columbus, OH, San Diego, CA and Dalton, GA. Although Melissa was born a Buckeye in the state of Ohio, she's thrilled to call Corpus Christi her home.
During her spare time she enjoys volunteer work, watching cheesy horror movies and playing with her rescued pound puppy "Ellie Belle".

Sabrina Hall is a morning reporter and anchor for KIII TV News. She comes to Corpus Christi from Hawaii where she was born and raised. She got her start on professional TV as a crime reporter there. She now covers more upbeat stories around town. On her free time she likes to read books, go to the gym and snuggle up to her dog Honey Bee that she adopted from a local shelter in Corpus Christi.

Toni Miles is the morning and noon anchor at Action 10 News, the CBS affiliate in Corpus Christi. She also still reports. The Mississippi native worked at three different TV stations in South Mississippi before heading for the Coastal Bend. Her career has linked her with amazing people from all walks of life, and she has some stories to tell herself.
She survived Katrina as the hurricane ripped the roof off her old news room and has slept (with her camera) in a horse trailer during a two-day special report on the devastation brought on by Hurricane Ike in the small Texas fishing village San Leon. Her producer knows to keep a watchful eye out when Toni does the Pet of the Week segment. Years ago, she wound up taking a blind Boston Terrier home with her after he was the featured as Pet of the Week. Toni is now the "mother" of a Boston Terrier named Bella, who, of course, calls all the shots!

From singing in the church choir as a young boy, to jumping out of planes as an airborne paratrooper, to making people laugh on stage as a stand up comedian. Edward has done it all and is ready for his next experience.
After graduating from the Art Institute of Dallas in 2003 Edward moved to San Antonio where he put his degree to good use as a production assistant for Time Warner Media Sales, shooting and editing commercials for clients such as the Komen Foundation to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Working in the Alamo City allowed Edward to learn his craft in a fast paced setting while letting him hone his skills as an aspiring writer/filmmaker through the culture of the big city.
Like they say there is no place like home so now Edward resides in his hometown of Corpus Christi and proudly works as an award winning Promotions Producer for KZTV Action 10 News. As Head of Promotions for Action 10 he is able to draw viewers as well as use his creative abilities to inspire the local community in public service. Dancing is one of his favorite things to do and doing it for a good cause makes it that much better!
